Do I have to take an English proficiency exam?
For international applicants remaining in their home country and applying to the online format, and those whose undergraduate studies were in a language other than English, the TOEFL or IELTS exam is required. Submit your score report through PSYCAS. For international students who earned their bachelor's degree in the U.S. or other English-speaking countries, these exams are not required. We suggest a minimum score of 100.
UPDATE: TOEFL will be moving away from the 0-120 score range to a 1-6 score range after January 21st, 2026. Moving forward, if an applicant takes their exam after January 21st, the minimum will go to a score of 5. For IELTS, the minimum score will be 7.
